Events
This winter, don’t miss your opportunity to see a show on stage at the oldest working theatre in Australia, located in the heart of Nipaluna/Hobart.
The Off Season kicks off at the Theatre Royal with an intriguing murder mystery as we present the world’s longest running play, Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap in June. Embrace the winter spirit with a wine and cheese box before the show.
Don’t miss Jane Harrison’s award-winning and timely First Nations work The Visitors in August and finish the Off Season with the classic bohemian love story La Bohème by Opera Australia complemented with a glass of Tasmanian sparkling and chocolates.
There are also two shows in our wonderfully intimate contemporary Studio Theatre. During the July school holidays, we have ARC, bringing to life rare and exotic animals in the form of puppets to enable young people and their families to explore themes of conservation. This is followed by Past the Shallows in August adapted by playwright Julian Larnach from Favel Parrett’s award-winning novel.
