Empower young Tasmanians to create, thrive and dream big.

The true purpose of arts education is not necessarily to create more professional dancers or artists. It’s to create more complete human beings who are critical thinkers, who have curious minds, and who can lead productive lives.
- Primary Music & Education Ltd

As a committed arts lover, you know how important it is that all young people can access and participate in the arts.

The rising costs of living means the gap between those who can afford to attend and participate in the arts and those who can’t is growing.

Please help more young people attend a live theatre performance and participate in creative opportunities at the Theatre Royal.

Help the Theatre Royal deliver programs like Future Stages, designed to empower young people to create, thrive and dream big.

The Theatre Royal’s new Future Stages program helps nurture a passion for the performing arts.  The program allows Tasmanian students in years 10 to 12 to experience productions, access behind-the-scenes, and participate in creative workshops that connect them more closely with arts professionals and offer pathways to the performing arts sector.

There are 31 students participating in Future Stages in 2024. You can support the Theatre Royal’s ambitions to grow this program to involve more students and offer more opportunities for engagement.

You can help build a future for the Arts in Tasmania

Every donation makes a huge difference in helping young Tasmanians like Dayna achieve her dreams of a career in the performing arts.

Why participating in the arts is vital for young people

Research shows that:-

  • Participation in structured arts activities can increase cognitive abilities by 17%
  • Learning through arts and culture develops skills and behaviour that leads children to do better in school
  • Arts participation enables self-expression and improves mental health

Thank you for opening up the performing arts for all young Tasmanians.
