Worlds Collide
Worlds Collide reimagines how diverse traditions and genres can coexist within a classical music setting.
Soprano Priscilla Song presents a moving program of Korean art songs with piano accompaniment, offering Hobart audiences a glimpse into the beauty and depth of Korean musical artistry while sharing her own cultural identity.
Simon Ramirez explores global traditions through a brass quartet, performing his original arrangements of folk songs from across the world – bringing fresh vitality to music passed down through generations.
Finally, Emily Swanson bridges classical and contemporary styles by arranging and performing a pop song for piano trio, blending familiar sounds with chamber textures. Together, these projects highlight the versatility of music as a tool for cultural exchange and artistic innovation.
Join the University of Tasmania for an afternoon where past and present, tradition and modernity, truly collide.
