Inspired by re:group's POV - Theatre Royal and Apple Box Studios are teaming up to present a film competition - it's time for your POV!

We want to hear about your parents/carers/guardians - tell us something fascinating or funny about them.  

Does your Dad sing Aria's around the house? Does your Mum speak to the cat incessantly? Does your Aunt cheat at cards? Maybe your Nanna make the best sponge cake of ALL TIME?

Tell us your story, we want to see the adults in your life, from your point of view. 

This is a short film competition open to anyone with parents, guardians or carers who should be seen on the (small) big screen!

Winner receives

• $300 cash 

• A $100 Theatre Royal voucher 

• 6  choc tops when you visit the Theatre Royal to share with your friends (or eat yourself)

• An Apple Box Studio Membership

Content

• No violence, strong language or adult themes (including nudity).

Instructions

• Films must be a maximum of 3 minutes including titles and credits

• Your film can be created on any device

• Name your file like this: POV_firstname_lastname.mp4

• Save your film in the following format: .mp4 (H.264 codec), 1080p, 16:9, 24fps, stereo AAC, 48 kHz. 

• Please also provide a behind the scenes photo and a production still (with photographer credit)

• Upload your finished film to Dropbox (a free account is easy to create) and email the link to your dropbox folder to marketing@theatreroyal.com.au. Please make sure your folder is set to "Anyone with the link can view".

Conditions of entry

• This competition is free to enter, and open to all

• You must get permission from the people you film

• If you use copyrighted music, you must have the rights to this music in the form of written permission from the artist

• Any artists music must be attributed in the credits

• Films created with AI will not be eligible

Copyright and permissions

• You will retain full copyright of your film, 

• By submitting it you grant non-exclusive rights to the Theatre Royal and Apple Box Studio to screen it at the opening night of POV; on the Theatre Royal foyer screens, social media and for marketing purposes.

• Note your film will be subtitled for the Theatre Royal foyer screens (as they don't have sound capabilities).
