Danceweekender 2026
DANCEWEEKENDER is a vibrant celebration of community dance across Lutruwita/Tasmania presented by Tasdance.
Now in its third year, the program brings together local dance groups for an afternoon of performance, teaching, and shared experience. Each group performs a short work and then invites the audience to learn their style, creating an open, inclusive space where people can participate for ten minutes or stay for the entire event.
Since launching in 2024, more than 500 participants have taken part, highlighting the diversity of dance across the island and the strength of community connection.
At its core, DANCEWEEKENDER is about collaboration, access, and making dance for everyone, a welcoming space to learn, share, move, and connect.
This year, six dance groups will share their unique styles.
Audiences are welcome to drop in or stay for the full program.
