About the Theatre Royal

Opening in 1837, Hobart’s Theatre Royal has been the home of contemporary theatre in Tasmania for more than 180 years and is Australia’s oldest working theatre. This heritage treasure occupies an important place in the hearts of Tasmanians and many visitors to Hobart.

The Theatre Royal is more than a building – we are an organisation that delivers high quality performing arts experiences and facilities. The Theatre Royal’s expertise is not only in providing world class service and facilities but also in providing staff excellence across all operational departments. If you value working with a strong service orientated team please provide a current resume listing current certificates and tickets. The Theatre Royal is as much about the people who work there and host and support both theatre practitioners and theatre goers, as it is about the building in which they work.
