Covid may have cancelled this year’s 'Adventure Bay Blues & Roots Festival', but fear not… the team is delighted to present some of their favourite festival acts – In The City!

SESSION ONE: 2PM

The Ange Boxall Trio - Ange embodies the spirit of the modern Americana star – with a 1970s singer songwriter heart. Her very own style of country-folk-pop is commercial, crystal clear, and wickedly catchy. “Ange Boxall is a tender hearted optimist whose songs are delicate, honest & glorious.  Pretty melodies meet considered, beautiful lyrics. And her voice.  Its as lovely as her smile. Which is to say, it’s electric”  Emma Swift, ABC Radio (AUS)

Pete Cornelius Band -  Pete has been a working musician since the age of 13. He continues to expand his repertoire and impress his audience with his tone-full guitar and soulful vocals. Pete’s style is difficult to describe but is steeped in heartfelt blues, greasy funk & soul with Americana overtones. His authentic sound and original songwriting is unique to Pete and does not disappoint. Pete’s skill is recognised internationally. He has a swag of awards and albums and maintains his status as one of Australia’s best guitarists. The Pete Cornelius Band is nothing less than world class.

SESSION TWO: 7PM

The Bad Dad Orchestra- It’s big, it’s bad and it’s Dad!! Formed in mid-2015 from a concept devised by the bands late guitarist Liam Guthrie, evolved quickly into a powerhouse combination of some of Tasmania’s premiere contemporary musicians. A traditional line-up with; vocals, electric guitars, bass guitar, drum kit, Hammond organ & a 3-piece horn section (tenor sax, trumpet, trombone). Big grooves, snappy horn lines and catchy as hell vocals. Critics have likened the band to the classic sounds of Australian pub-rock with a modern twist, whilst others have named it a unique brand of
soul.

Boil Up - This ten piece band is a melting pot of contemporary Australia. Their roots stretch from the traditional owners of Tasmania, New Zealand and Fiji, to as far away as Ireland, England and Croatia; celebrating the coming together of different cultures into one family. Featuring rich harmonies blended together with traditional reggae, funk and R&B, Boil Up have created their own unique sound of reggae fusion. The musical ingredients and recipe have evolved over the years to create an energetic and entertaining human boilup that will leave you wanting a second helping. With their debut album about to drop, and months of lockdown Boil Up are on fire.

The Southside Steppers will be making an appearance at both sessions - The Southside Steppers bring high energy performances and downright awesome
vibes wherever they go. On the stage or marching, the Steppers make everyone wanna clap, dance and sing!
