In 2016, to further his exploration of musical storytelling, Tasmanian composer Craig M. Wood challenged himself to write 100 original songs in 365 days. This project included multiple cycles drawing inspiration from Terry Pratchett to obscure, and possibly imaginary, German words. Accompanied by fellow composer and pianist Matthew Boden, Craig will be performing selections from the Philosophy cycle, entitled Soul in a Saucepan, in an intimate performance at the Theatre Royal Backspace.

Soul in a Saucepan will be complemented by the launch of Creative Context, the newest ongoing artistic project of husband and wife team, Craig and Michelle Wood. It is an online conversation, made up of Blogs, Vlogs and other digital content, talking with people from different backgrounds and communities, exploring how creativity is expressed, experienced and beneficial in their daily lives.

This will be Craig and Michelle’s final production before leaving the state to pursue creative endeavours in NSW.

The evening will be hosted by actor and arts educator, Andrew Casey.

“How would we miss what we didn’t know that we never had?”
