STATE THEATRE COMPANY SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Meet the Company

THE POPULAR MECHANICALS
Wed 04 Oct 2017 6:00pm

The Theatre Royal is proud to present a State Theatre Company South Australia production The Popular Mechanicals, performing at the Theatre Royal 5 to 7 October.

Shakespeare’s greatest clowns—the rude mechanicals from A Midsummer Night’s Dream— take centrestage in this wild reimagining of what might have happened off-stage during the Bard’s most loved comedy.

First directed by Geoffrey Rush in 1987, The Popular Mechanicals holds a special place in the Australian comedic canon. Directed by former Sydney Theatre Company Resident Director, Sarah Giles, it’s a perfect romp that promises to lift the roof.

We are very pleased to provide this opportunity to meet with the cast of the State Theatre Company South Australia's production of The Popular Mechanicals.
