The Theatre Royal is assisted through Arts Tasmania by the Minister for the Arts. Arts Tasmania is the unique, innovative and creative government arts agency, responsible for policy and planning for arts and culture in Tasmania.


Playing Australia

The Australian Government is proud to be associated with tours of interstate companies to Tasmania through the national performing arts touring program, Playing Australia, which gives Australians across the country the opportunity to see some of our best performing arts.





RACT is Tasmania's leading service organisation, offering a large range of services based on the guiding principles of support, security, safety and service. Both iconic Tasmanian businesses, the RACT and the Theatre Royal serve the Tasmanian community, are seen as leaders in our respective fields and enjoy an alignment of values and objectives.

In 2015 RACT will support bringing Bell Shakespeare's Hamlet  to the Theatre Royal.

Xsquared Architects is a leading Tasmanian architectural practice, providing a comprehensive range of services for both living and working environments.

Specialising in commercial, institutional and sustainable design they are committed to supporting and participating in the arts. In 2015 Xsquared Architects will support bringing Sydney Dance Company's De Novo to the Theatre Royal.

It has a long and successful partnership with the Theatre Royal providing accommodation and function services to both the Theatre Royal and touring companies.

A new partner to the Theatre Royal in 2015, Shadforth Financial Group will support bringing Melbourne Theatre Company's The Weir to the Theatre Royal.

The Hobart City Council is one of the nation's oldest councils; its demonstrated leadership has made Hobart one of the most liveable cities with a quality lifestyle. The Theatre Royal is grateful for the assistance and support provided by the Hobart City.


Cascade Brewery

Peter Degraves designed and built the Cascade Brewery in 1824 and the Theatre Royal in 1834.  A collaborative partnership has been forged from this common heritage.  Cascade continues to uphold its beliefs in quality and hard work while proudly giving back to the State that has supported it all these years.  In 2015 the Theatre once again welcomes Cascade Brewery’s commitment to supporting access for individuals to the theatre and the arts as well as show support for Pants Down Circus ROCK.



One of TasWaters's key drivers is to provide lasting value for communities. As well as providing sustainable services, TasWater contributes to the community by offering financial and in-kind support. The Theatre again welcomes TasWater's commitment to supporting access for primary school students to the theatre and the arts. In 2015 they will support access to ROALD DAHL’S Revolting Rhymes and Dirty Beasts.


Digital Ink

Digital Ink is a successful design studio specialising in design and production for print and multimedia. Digital Ink demonstrates their considerable expertise with the design of all the Theatre Royal’s printed material and press advertising. The quality of Digital Ink’s work has been acknowledged through a multitude of awards.

In 2015 Digital Ink will again support bringing Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow to the Theatre Royal.


Friends of the Theatre Royal

The Friends of the Theatre Royal provide valuable support to the Theatre, assisting in promotion of, and raising funds for the Theatre. The Friends of the Theatre Royal conduct public tours of the Theatre. You can book a tour at the Box Office.


Fullers Bookshop

Fullers Bookshop was born in Hobart in the early 1920s. It is a well established, vibrant and dynamic bookshop. It holds the status of Tasmania’s leading independent bookseller and is a fundamental component of Tasmania’s cultural landscape. Fullers support the Theatre Royal’s ‘meet the company’ events during 2015.

Southern Cross Austereo is the creator of more hours of live content than any other broadcast media in Australia. Southern Cross Austereo is the Theatre’s television and radio advertising partner.


Heart 107.3 Hobart

Heart 107.3 is Hobart's best adult contemporary station, playing the widest variety of music from the 70's right through to the latest hits. They enjoy a heavy involvement in the community.


40 Degrees South

Magnolia Flowers

Located in Macquarie Street, South Hobart, Magnolia Flowers are the Theatre Royal’s florist partner, providing beautiful floral arrangements for the Theatre Royal foyer and events.
